(As of September 2006, my practice is closed while I turn full-time to writing. The following information describes my therapeutic approach to whatever work I undertake as a psychologist.)
The following describes Dr. Pasick's approach:
- Systems (a consideration of the many contexts of a person's life: self, current relationships, race and class identity, family of origin, psychobiology, social network, work, community, and spirituality)
- Narrative (emphasis on the development of a current, past, and future story that is positive and meaningful)
- Strength-based (focus on what is working, enduring positive qualities, and the development of new talents and capacities)
- Cognitive-behavioral (emphasis on unlearning old mind-body habits, and practicing new ways of directing the mind to affect overwhelming moods and emotions)
